Writing this post minutes after England qualified for the quarter-finals, I have mixed feelings. The goal-difference is encouraging not for England, but for either Portugal or Holland whom England is to meet next.
Rooney was excellent in creating a couple of very close chances; which Lampard, well, wasted. On one occasion, the ball was too close which was collected by Mora (the GK of ECU). So close, as a matter of fact, that the commentator said, even Lampard couldn't have missed that. The commentator was polite enough to add "with all due respect to Lampard, though."
After watching ~20 chances blown away by Lampard a quick question comes to mind: When is Lampard going to deliver [good]?
Maybe after nine months?
No. I would prefer nine days!
