Is it official yet?

I thought the day had risen, at last! After round-about talk of recession and economic slow-down, today came the news of biggest financial institution filing for bankruptcy and the other setting itself up for buyers.

Yet, it was not quite official.

This afternoon, however, after buying my lunch when I went ahead to pay for it, I saw this bold printouts at all the cash registers: "Credit card machines out of order. Cash Please."

And then, I thought it was official, after all!
