Much has been written (or is it really?) about India's famous victory at the Wanderers, Dhoni's excellence in leadership, Pathan and Sehwag's return, newly found confidence in defending relatively small totals, spirit of the Youth and what not.
Yet, one unsung hero remains. And he is none other than Rohit Sharma.
This new kid on the block did not get out in the entire tournament (or whatever matches he played in). Only once he got near to getting out (remember that six in the last over in the final?). Luck was with him as the fielder spilled the chance and helped the ball cross boundary, adding six invaluable runs to India's total. (And now, who can tell me the margin of victory?)
One cannot forget his brilliant effort in running Justin Kemp out in the virtual quarter-final against the hosts.
And what a sweet irony! Despite scoring consistently and when-it-mattered, this hero can't find a figure against "average" column in his stats-book!
