I was having an intereseting discussion with my friend.
"How much is 1+1?", I asked.
After having a deep thought, he replied, "1+1 is 0"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, well, 1+1 is 0 with a carry of 1", he reaffirmed.
"OK. 1+1 is 0. In the Galois Field GF(2), 1+1 = 0 but not 0 carry 1".

I had the expression of "gotcha!" on my face.
A kid standing nearby was amused! He had a look of how-the-hell-they-take-such-people-for-PG, that too, in IISc !!!
